Tommy Tuberville Statement On The Passing Of Hall Of Fame Coach Pat Dye

Today is a sad day for the Auburn community with the loss of Coach Pat Dye. Coach Dye was a true Auburn man and believed in the value of hard work and “a sound mind, in a sound body and a spirit that is not afraid, and in clean sports that develop these qualities.”  He helped to instill these Auburn principles in players and fans alike. He was one of the coaching greats of the game, and many including myself learned invaluable lessons from watching him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family for peace and comfort during this time.

Career Politicians. Desperate And Distorting The Truth.

“Only one candidate in this race is 100% committed to supporting Donald Trump and helping him build the wall.  Doug won’t, Jeff didn’t, Bradley hasn’t, but Tommy will.

When Donald Trump was deep in the fight against Hillary Clinton and needed Bradley Bryne the most, Byrne said he was ‘unfit to be president.’  Alabama doesn’t need to elect another cut-and-run congressman like Bradley Byrne.  We need a pro-Trump fighter like Tommy Tuberville.

The Tuberville plan to fight illegal immigration mirrors everything Donald Trump has said on the issue.  We’ve got to close our borders, protect American jobs, stop illegal drugs, and block terrorists from sneaking into our country.

The Trump administration believes we must prioritize skilled workers who apply to come here legally so they can do the jobs that Americans just don’t want to do.  I’m simply backing President Trump’s policy…just like I’ll do in Washington.

Career politicians and second-tier candidates like Bradley Byrne are afraid of losing power and being yanked out of the swamp.  In the final few days of the primary, he’s telling lies, distorting positions, and launching baseless attacks because desperate candidates do desperate things.

The Byrne campaign has spent thousands of dollars on paid trackers who have followed our campaign from the Tennessee Valley to the Gulf of Mexico.  Instead of telling the truth about our get-tough, pro-Trump plan to fight illegal immigration, Byrne is deceiving voters with a two-second, out-of-context clip.  It’s a sleazy, swamp creature tactic from a desperate politician.

The Republican primary voters in Alabama are smarter than Bradley Byrne thinks.  It’s time for them to call a penalty and throw a flag against Byrne’s lies and deceptions.” — Coach Tuberville

Jeff Sessions’ decision to recuse himself from the Russia collusion investigation helped empower congressional Democrats to impeach President Donald Trump and directly resulted in the Senate trial that is scheduled to convene tomorrow.

Tuberville’s statement read:

“In football, a player has to know that he can count on his teammates to watch his back, and a coach has to know that his players will play their hardest until the last second ticks. As attorney general, Jeff Sessions handed the ball to the other team and walked off the field the moment play started getting rough.

As a result, history’s greatest president will face his darkest day tomorrow as liberal Democrats looking to turn our country socialist argue for his removal from office in a bogus impeachment trial.

If Jeff Sessions had stood up and fought instead of letting a bunch of anti-Trump attorneys in the Justice Department bully him into recusal, the Democrats’ persistent persecution of the president could have been stopped a long time ago.

It is time for Alabama to elect a senator who will support President Trump, guard his flank, and fight the socialist mob that wants to run him out of Washington.

Jeff Sessions had his chance, and he fumbled the ball because he doesn’t know the difference between ‘won’t back down’ and ‘cut and run.’ It is time to elect a senator who knows how to win.”

Tuberville referenced Sessions’ decision as attorney general to recuse himself from involvement in the Comey and Mueller investigations upon advice from Deep State bureaucrats.

Trump later said he would not have appointed Sessions if he had known of his intentions to recuse. The president’s mounting disappointment eventually led Trump to demand Sessions’ resignation in November of 2018.

Expanding transparency in prescription drug prices

The rising cost of healthcare is a concern for every American with the cost of prescription medication increasing yearly.

Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) were created to administer prescription drug plans on behalf of insurers and employers. PBMs serve as “middlemen” who negotiate prices between pharmacies and drug manufacturers on behalf of plan sponsors. They were supposed to reduce costs for sponsors, pharmacies and consumers, but this has not been the case. In fact, drug costs as a percentage of total health care spending have doubled to nearly 10 percent in 2014 — up from 5.2% in 1987.

In terms of total spending on prescription drugs, the numbers are even worse. Between 1987 and 2014, spending on prescription drugs increased by 1,010%! In the same period, patients’ actual out-of-pocket costs increased by 169%, with PBMs making an even greater percentage of profit.

How does this happen? A number of factors have allowed PBMs to generate huge profits without reducing costs for sponsors and consumers. Mergers and acquisitions between PBMs have reduced their numbers to the point that three PBMs now control nearly 80% of prescription drug benefit purchases. PBMs negotiate rebates from drug companies to include their drugs on the PBMs plan, but there is no transparency in these deals. This means that sponsors, pharmacies and patients usually have no way of knowing what the “real” cost of a drug is to the PBM.

Recently, some companies have abandoned PBMs, choosing to negotiate directly with pharmacy networks for prescription services, with good results. A few states have taken steps to rein in the secrecy and runaway profiteering by PBMs, but multiple bills introduced into both chambers of the U.S. Congress have died in committee. Action by the federal government continues to be needed, and President Trump recognized this when he called for Congress to require drug makers, insurers and hospitals to disclose “real prices” in his State of
the Union Address.

It’s clear that PBM reforms are needed, and these reforms need to come from Congress. With President Trump’s backing, Republicans can and should work to pass bills to increase transparency across the industry so that employers, pharmacists and patients know the “real prices” of drugs. Medicare Part D drug payments for generic drugs are the logical place to begin this transparency. Finally, regulatory barriers that prevent companies from acting as their own PBMs should be reduced or eliminated. This will allow the free market to lower drug costs while preserving patient’s access to the medications they need.

Without congressional oversight and investigation, we will lose the first line of defense for healthcare–our locally owned independent pharmacies. Without Congressional action, the PBMs will continue to abuse our parents’ and grandparents’ financial security and access to the medications they need.

We will never be able to control healthcare spending unless the ever-increasing costs of prescription meds are reined in. This election season, every candidate needs to be clear about their position on PBMs and how they will work to increase transparency and reduce costs for all of us. Congress must act on healthcare, and voters need to be sure that their representatives understand the issues and what is at stake if they do not.

As your senator, I’ll work to strip away the veil of secrecy from the backroom deals and hidden kickbacks the PBMs have used to amass such huge profits at the expense of employers, pharmacies and patients. I’ll support legislation to reduce bureaucratic and regulatory barriers to companies who want to act as their own PBMs. Senator Tommy Tuberville will always stand with patients, local pharmacies and employers against profiteering middlemen who want to use medical needs for their own personal gain.

Conecuh Sausage Festival — Conecuh Sausage a great tradition

On Saturday, I attended the Conecuh Sausage Festival in Evergreen. It was great to be in Southern Alabama; we met many prospective voters. Conecuh Sausage is one of the great Alabama traditions. The company supports many jobs in the region and will always be an excellent company for the local economy.

I can still remember having it for the first time some thirty years ago. What would tailgating in the South be without Conecuh Sausage?

COACH: Hunter Biden Making Millions While Scamming Us

President Trump is absolutely right to not participate in Nancy Pelosi’s sham impeachment inquiry. And now we learn that Hunter Biden is as corrupt as his father, making millions while scamming the American people. Are you as sick of the SWAMP as I am?! Time to run the career politicians out of town and support candidates that love this country.
